Wilmington
Wilmington is one of the most unique towns on the North Carolina coast because of it’s eclectic mix of people; from artists and actors to beach bums, college students, and tourists. Carolina Beach
Carolina Beach is a resort community located 15 miles south of Wilmington. The community’s most active months are from mid-April to November, but its mild climate makes it a great place to live year round. Wrightsville Beach
Wrightsville Beach is known for its clear blue waters and spacious, clean beach. Hampstead
Hampstead is located in Pender County, one of NC’s fastest growing areas. It is home to beautiful golf courses, such as Belvedere Plantation, Olde Point Golf and Country Club and Castle Bay. Hampstead also boats Topsail High School, recognized as one of the nation’s best high schools. Every year, the last weekend in September, Hampstead holds the North Carolina Spot Festival. With thousands in attendance and over 6,000 “Spot” dinner plates served annually, the festival is the largest fundraiser for Topsail schools and the community.

Surf City
Surf City has been the commercial heart of Topsail Island for over 60 years. The town has grown from a small fishing village that was home to a handful of families to a year-round community of around 1,900. Surf City’s clean and uncrowded beaches have become the town’s main attraction Surf City is home to a variety of indoor and outdoor dining facilities that feature coastal Carolina cuisine. Topsail Sound and the Intracoastal Waterway separate the island from the mainland. This narrow body of water provides the perfect setting for canoeing, kayaking, water skiing and fishing.

Topsail Beach
Incorporated in 1963, Topsail Beach is home to restaurants, unique shops and a fishing pier. This beautiful beach community stretches from Surf City to the southern tip of the island. Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescues and Rehabilitation Center, Missiles and More Museum and the Autumn with Topsail Festival all call Topsail Beach home as well. Leland is located just across the river from Wilmington in Brunswick County. Oak Island
The Town of Oak Island has 60+ public beach accesses, as well as fishing docks and piers, boat ramps and many other access points to the Intracoastal Waterway and the Davis Canal, making it the perfect location for fishing, boating, kayaking and other water activities. Oak Island also has a municipal golf course and many parks including, a skate park, a dog park, a cabana on the oceanfront with an observation deck and plenty of places to find a quiet spot to relax and enjoy the view. Area businesses, like piers and marinas, restaurants and ice cream shops, also help make vacationers feel welcome while catering to full-time residents. The town of Oak Island covers much of the island and in
cludes areas on the mainland around both bridges, such as the golf course community of South Harbor Village. There are also thousands of undeveloped acres near the Swain’s Cut Bridge.

Burgaw
Nestled in the heart of Pender County, Burgaw is a small town known for its friendly people and picturesque surroundings. So much so, several films and television shows have been filmed here. Burgaw is conveniently located 25 minutes from Wilmington and area beaches. Burgaw offers a wide variety of shopping and casual dining. Sneads Ferry
It is the second largest municipality in Onslow County, behind Jacksonville. Growth primarily has been driven by accessibility to MCB Camp Lejeune and expansion of the United States Marine Corps Special Operations Command (MARSOC). Sneads Ferry is expected to continue growing rapidly in coming years. This municipality began as a fishing town and those roots are still evident today in this charming area.

Jacksonville
Jacksonville is among North Carolina’s fastest growing cities and has become a retail hub, but it is better known as the home of Camp Lejeune, a Marine Corps facility called “The World’s Most Complete Amphibious Training Base.”The community was established in 1757 and officially incorporated in 1842. The city was named after Andrew Jackson, the seventh President of the United States. Jacksonville is home to the Marine Corporation Museum of the Carolinas and the Lynnwood Park Zoo. Bolivia
Bolivia is the county seat of Brunswick County, NC and is part of the Myrtle Beach metropolitan area. It is located in east-central Brunswick County, about 18 miles southwest of Wilmington. Bolivia is the center of Brunswick County government, and because of that has seen an increase in population and access. It is close to Brunswick County beaches, great shopping, and located just a short drive from UNCW.

Southport
Southport is a charming town, rich in history, located where the mouth of the Cape Fear River intersects with the ICWW and the Atlantic Ocean. Although Southport is home to events such as the Fourth of July Festival, it is normally a quiet fishing village with just over 3000 year round residents. It is a great place to visit, or retire!
